CHRONIC CONDITIONS: Your pain is your story

Learning your pain story is the most important step in making an effective treatment plan. Was it sudden and quick, like lightning? Or did it creep up slowly, like moss spreading over stone? Is it changing with the seasons, waxing and waning like the moon? Or is it a constant, bothersome presence, like a shadow that always follows you?

We often think about pain and its presence, but what about what is missing? Are you losing time with friends and family? Is it stopping you from your sport, or your hobbies? Is it affecting your job opportunities, or your career? Does it take away from your joy, and your quality of life?

Behind every pain symptom is a person with a story.

Integrative medicine is the art of putting that story together.
